A Couple Dances Balboa
with an infant sandwiched between,
strapped to her chest.
He with dark bags under his eyes,
she resting her head on her son’s,
they shuffle and hold in rhythm
obviously familiar
to them, follow the tracks they left
yesterday and the day before
from a time they can’t remember.
He leads a small come around and
pulls them back close.
